Hiding that little maternity bump with the right clothes might have been easy enough at first. Soon though, that sweet little nugget is big enough to compare to some fruits and vegetables (what the heck is a Rutabaga anyway?). It’s high time for some maternity clothing!
As I stumbled upon the “maternity” section in different department stores, rummaging through their tiny selection of clothes, I remember feeling frustrated. Grandma isn’t pregnant here, come on! So, on the quest I went for fashionable maternity clothing. Being a designer, I was picky. I already felt like a whale and I had a lot in common. At that point, I didn’t want to add “tent” to the list.
Through all my hard searching, I’ve made a list of all the BEST maternity clothes so you don’t have to feel the frustration I did!
The Best Maternity Bra – Target Women’s Nursing Seamless Bra – Gilligan & O’Malley™ $18.99
I wouldn’t recommend buying a “maternity”/nursing bra until your current bra starts feeling uncomfortable. This way, you can try on different sizes and styles and know what really suits your body at the time you need it. I bought this bra in my second trimester after trying on MANY different kinds from MANY different stores all the way from Jessica Simpson’s maternity line to Pea in the Pod etc.
Blog life can be rough. You’ve got social media dinging every few seconds, posts you need to write, a newsletter due yesterday and a whole library full of tips, articles, eCourses and ebooks you’ve bookmarked to get to “later”. Time management sometimes may seem like a lost cause.
Along with those never-ending to-dos, you may be a mom so busy that some kind of angelic orchestra may literally sing (or shout…) “Halleluiah!” if you find yourself with even a minute of “free” time. Relaxing showers may have become a thing of the past. Manicures seem like a long lost relationship and your hair hasn’t unwound from that bun since the third trimester.
In this moment, you may be questioning if there is any way to actually do life (handling all your children and husband’s infinite needs) AND manage a blog. Ha! That idea could seem as far-fetched as traveling in a magic pumpkin wearing a conjured gown while counting down till midnight.
What if I told you that this idea IS NOT some fairy tale?
Stick with me.
I used to be a project manager, so when I started a blog I thought it wouldn’t be too difficult of an undertaking. Boy, was I wrong. All the to-dos and things I desired to tackle just seemed to keep piling and piling up! I felt like a hamster just running my little heart out and going nowhere. I even left blogging and burnt out completely for a long stretch of time.
When your baby has the cold or flu, it seems the whole world has turned upside down.
We moms, start all the Googling…
What are flu symptoms in infants? How high of a fever is bad?! Can I use Vicks on a baby? What’s the best relief for baby’s cough, runny nose or fever? How do I help my baby sleep better with a cold?
The frantic typing continues…
After searching all the cold and flu symptoms for infants, the pediatrician’s appointment couldn’t come soon enough. Not to mention that your little one can only tell you what hurts by wailing at the top of their lungs.
Wouldn’t it be just peachy if they could say, “By the way Mother, I am coming down with some sort of flu because I have chills and my throat hurts. Could you please give me a dose of Children’s Tylenol so I can sleep better?”
This cold season, we are on our seventh sickness. After an ER visit, many fevers and two doctor visits, I finally asked the pediatrician, “What am I doing wrong?”
She shrugged and responded, “Babies get sick. They can have anywhere from 12 to 20 colds in a year.”
Wonderful.

HaloVa Diaper Bag
I LOVE this bag!!! Lately I have been leaning more towards the backpack diaper bag. I love how I can swing it over my shoulders and forget about it. With the purse, it kind of felt like I had to lug another thing around (besides a baby! haha). It’s also nice that it’s not so girly when my husband uses it. We have received a lot of compliments on it!
Check out the pics at the bottom of the page that show more details about the pockets in this bag.
Planet Wise Wet Diaper Tote Bag, Medium
Planet Wise is the best! These little wet diaper totes are the bomb and they come in such cute colors! I have two and wash our cloth diapers every other day. I wish I had three because I use these every day and have to use a plastic grocery bag when these are drying. They keep in smell perfectly, and fit a great amount of diapers (we’ve used them on trips and they hold an entire day’s worth of pocket diapers with all the inserts).

One of the biggest fears in my life was the whole labor and delivery thing. I wanted kids SO badly, but this fear was big enough, I wasn’t sure that dream would be possible. The movies seem to equate birthing to a heart thudding horror flick. Pregnant with our first (eeek!), I wasted no time enrolling in prenatal education classes. Afterwards, I felt semi-prepared (even relieved) but I never EVER realized that postpartum recovery was what I really needed to worry about.
We learned all the details of labor in our prenatal classes (all the options) and watched videos that were a little cringe-worthy but hey, it’s childbirth. Knowing what to expect put us at ease.
However, I was TOTALLY unprepared for postpartum healing and pain. Everything about the realities of life after birth seemed to come as a complete shock to me.
